Flip is a character from Maya the Bee who is a wise friend of Maya and Willy and the deuteragonist of the series and the supporting character in the second movie.
Personality[]
Flip has known and has taken care of Maya since her birth and can be a happy wanderer going where the wind brings him. He sees himself as a happy and extravagant soul and is usually kind and supportive and would usually give some helpful advice to Maya and Willy about certain situations or problems. He has a passion for music and he loves playing his violin. Even if Maya is sad, she can come to him if she can.

- Flip can sometimes be seen talking to the viewer in some episodes of the anime. This technique is known as "breaking the fourth wall".
- In the anime, Flip is more hyperactive and would also lose his temper more easily. He can also get annoyed along with getting easily excited.
- He scarcely takes his brown top hat off.
- From the 2012 adaptation onwards, he wears a waistcoat and pants.
- He did not appear in Bonsels' original book, but became a major character in the adaptations.
